• Bandy World Championships18 January - 25 January

  World Championships in Bandy will take place on the 18 – 25th of January 2009 and the host of the championships will be the City of Västerås. In Västerås there is a top modern arena for Bandy, ABB Arena, and it will be used as the main arena for most of the matches in the tournament.

  Gothenburg Film Festival is the major film event in Scandinavia. Every year the Festival screens more than 500 films from all over the world. All international films are screened after invitation by the selection committee and have their Swedish premieres in Gothenburg.

• Kiruna Snowfestival27 January - 01 February

  It's time again, for the 24:th time in succession. The opening cermony for the Snowfestival will be held the 27:th of January 2009. As always we invite you to a "world full of snow, ice and cold" with a "hot" daily program.

  The main attraction during the festival, is the Snow Sculpture Competition. Kiruna Snowfestival has grown to one of the mightiest snow event in Europe.
